We are trying to implement our first project to return boxing to high school sports programs, at least as an elective.
At the same time, the global task, of course, is to return boxing to the legal status of a student sport, albeit not under the auspices of the NCAA.
This would allow young athletes to return from garages and sheds to normal gyms, where they could exercise as safely and effectively as possible.
Boxing's expulsion from the NCAA dealt a death blow to it as a sport in the United States, eliminating all opportunities for legal boxing in colleges, schools and universities. This decision practically put boxing on the same level as guns and drugs in school, which is absolute madness, and those children who wanted to play this sport were doomed to practice in basements, garages and barns, for the most part completely unsuitable for such activities. It is unlikely that classes in such conditions contribute to the safety of children, not to mention the fact that they deprive them of the opportunity for successful self-realization and effective development of their talents.
This is a very sad situation, especially since it concerns not only boxing, but also all contact martial arts in principle, and its consequences are much deeper than just the degradation of individual sports; At the same time, society itself is degrading, ceasing to educate strong, courageous, decisive and responsible people capable of defending the values and freedoms of this society.
The path to the return of boxing to the legal world of school and university boxing is very thorny and we, of course, need the support and help of all like-minded people and all fans of our sport.
Since we currently do not have official government support, all the costs of equipping gyms, training and providing coaching staff, providing teams with everything they need, medical insurance (which is many times higher than the cost of insurance for NCAA-approved sports) can only be covered today for account of private foundations and private initiatives.
To implement this project, we need to receive funding in the amount of at least $120,000 per year.
